Sam Vogt, PHR

Vice President of Human Resources

“Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the wrong. Sometime in life you will have been all of these.”

George Washington Carver

Overseeing the Human Resources functions of PTS, Sam has over 15 years of health care HR experience in various settings and types of organizations. He earned his BA from UMass Amherst (longer ago than he’d care to recount) and has held PHR certification for the past decade. Sam focuses on & drives a culture of authenticity and mutual respect throughout PTS. His goal for the Human Resources Department is to consistently ensure that we take exceptional care of our people, are in line with best business practices, and continue to attract a high level of talent and character in our employees. Sam has been actively involved with LeadingAge CT, and has been a member of community healthcare and business advisory boards in Hartford County. The combination of industry, PTS culture, and personalities throughout PTS all fuel the drive, satisfaction and fulfillment he gets from his work. Outside of work, when not catering to his family or chauffeuring his daughters to sports and activities, Sam is an avid mountain biker who enjoys experiencing the dynamic landscape of CT (and a little quiet/solitude!) As a creative outlet, he is a musician in a band that plays throughout CT and MA. Both outlets help him keep mind and body recharged and energized to balance work & life.
