CMS- PART B ABN FORM R-131 RENEWAL
Attention: Updated Expiration Date
The Advance Beneficiary Notice of Non-Coverage (ABN) Form CMS-R-131 and its instructions have been approved by the federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for renewal.
The updated ABN is effective now and expires March 31, 2029. CMS will require the use of the renewed form with an expiration date of 03/31/2029, beginning May 12, 2026.
Providers may continue to use the expired form until May 12, 2026, but must transition to the
approved form by that date.
